What bug is this?

Can anyone ID this bug? It's on a flower petal, but I didn't find any damage after I got rid of it (malathon dipped q-tip). I want to know if I need to spray everything.

Get rid of it! I agree, Cockroaches are so disgusting. :P

I'm not sure if they harm orchids or not, but they are a pain in the eye to look at. Make sure you check closely for any more lurking around. Their eggs look like brown sacs...eww...

Or maybe it's just a lone roach that somehow got to your 'chid.

I had a large oncidium outside that got turned over in the winds of the hurricane. I just grabbed it and brought it inside. I hadn't sprayed it yet. I'm thinking it could have come from it?

So now what? Will spraying with malathon be enough to kill them or should I repot everything that was in the room? Kinda late in the year for repotting?

You yankess callin everything a roach, that is what we southeners refer to as palmetto bug. Yeah yeah... ok so its a roach.... no biggie! Kill and swill!

Roaches come from the north! gross and dirty. Palmettos aref rom the south and are bigger and cleaner!

Lisa,
Thats what I thought before, until Lja told me that my dens roots are like caviar to them. They eat onc roots too, especially the colmanara. For some reason they never bother my vandas. Spray malathion.
