    Default Chelonistele sulphurea

    This is related to Coelogyne . It blooms from a newly developing growth with a spike of spicy fragrant flowers that are 1" wide. The plant stands about 8" tall with a single lance-shaped leaf. It is native to W. Malaysia to The Philippines. The petals curl. I had the mother plant in bloom in Aug. This is a division of that plant, not sure if mother plant is also in bloom.

    wish I could go out orchid hunting...actually I can for there are a few terrestrials in this area.

    Wow, this is a nice one... love the lip and contrasting opaque tepals. it kinda makes me think of what a coelogyne crossed with a dendrochilum would look like

    Glad you like that feature. It took me a long time with a very small curling iron to get them just right.
