One Stupid Question

How can you tell if a vandaceous type of orchid is a Vanda or Ascocenda? Can you tell it by its appearance only? Its size, or type of flowers? I have here is a mini vanda type of orchid. Looking at its blooms it looks similar to a Asc. John de Biase. But I couldn't find full description of the plant itself.

Here's a pic of the plant I am talking about, sorry I don't have a close up. The flowers are about 2inches accross and the plant itself is about a foot high, more or less.
