Diatomite question

This is one for the experts on the forum. I recently was given about 25 lbs of Diatomite by a friend. My question is this. Is it safe for all orchids, should I mix it with bark or use it straight or should I not use it at all? Does anyone have any experience with this product? I appreciate the help.

Thanks Laurent. So far I've used it on 2 Catts that were in bad shape from the same person that gave me the diatomite. Hmmmmmmm I wonder if that could of been his problem. He bequeathed 6 Phal. NOIDS and 2 Catt Pokai Tangerine to me, all in pretty bad shape. That thread definitely helped me so thanks again,
