It looks like a henryanum on the lower right, but I don't see any spotting on the dorsal, so I'm not so sure.

You know...that one red one looks like it would like my porch! It must feel kinda weird with all those "other" ones sitting around like that. If it gets lonely for other catts, I'll babysit it for you. lol Very nice blooms!!

Good job Tim. Love those paphs, but unfortunately don't have the skill to grow them too successfully.

Well, Tim, I would have to say that the Sophrocattleya Ruby Royale really doesn't fit in with the rest of your posies. Rather than have such an otherwise serene visage marred by that upstart, I think you should just get rid of it. I have just the place for the little misfit, so just pack the lil bugger up and send her on over.

Connie, Paul, it's a pity we have all these quarantine requirements otherwise I'd ship off a piece to you both...

Rob, Becky, the white one is Paph niveum.... this is the first time it has managed to flower without a critter having a chomp at it!

McPiper, the one you are talking of is actually a gift from Diane when she was over here. It has consistently bloomed every year and has been a source of such delight... it's Paph hermanii.

Ischel, i've found that water and air are the main focus with growing or rather keeping Paphs alive. You need to have just the right amount of moisture, ie not too wet or it will rot the roots, and still not let it dry out... a freely draining mix e.g. pure medium bark always kept moist is an easy medium to keep in this state. As far as air, well just make sure there is always air movement, this helps with ensuring the medium doesn't stay wet too. Once you have the growing right, then it's about getting them to bloom... and i find that a healthy plant moved to a higher light level tends to bloom, so not sure whether they start to think it's spring or maybe it's just the amount of light they are getting.
