Thumbs up Phal Mandarin Fire 'Orange'

This phal is not really orange at all, but I do love the coloring. I have two of these. One in Semi-hydro and the other in bark. This is the smaller one in bark. I cut the spike off of the one in S/H because it had been going forever and the blooms where all tiny.

    Bruce,

I agree. The color is just lovely.

Don't know why they called it "orange." (and they thought I had a color impairment???)

LOL. I can see a tiny bit of orange in the center, but I think I would have called it something a bit more descriptive - not sure what, but something... hehe..

Nope, definitely not orange! Actually Phals don't "do" orange very well. There are some Phal-like Vandaceous orchids, though, so I keep waiting for some intrepid plant breeder/hybridizer to introduce orange into Phal flowers.

Whatever color you want to call it (I'd try coral), it's an attractive Phal. Nice, Bruce!

    Cheers,
    Rob

Very pretty color -- like the sunset reflecting off snow. I like the shape, too!

Maybe not orange but it's a lovely flower! This one could be one on my wish list :-)
