Tonight, as I was absentmindedly peeling off the dried papery sheath from around a Potinara's newest full leaf, the poor thing snapped off right in my hand. The sheath itself was dark and mottled, not pale, but the plant appears to be healthy overall. It didn't break at the leaf base but about a third down the length of the p-bulb.

2.) Could I try to start a new plant from the broken piece? It's got about an inch of bulb and the leaf itself is about ten inches long, but of course no growth eyes or roots etc.
3.) If that's even a likely possibility, how? What media would I put it in? What else should I know?
4.) Boo hoo again!!!!!!!
