Unknown Cattleya Leaf Curl

Okay, this is a strange question, but does anyone own a cattleya that naturally curls it's leaves backward? I got an unknown cattleya plant years ago that seems to curl it's leaves backward when they mature. Whenever I try to up the watering schedule (wanting the leaves to uncurl) I get fungus... here's a healthy picture of the plant...I just cut out black spot fungus and it doesn't look so good now. Notice how the leaves curl backward?

Actually, yeah...i've got a few catts that do this. The older leaves do it more than the new ones. And over time they get really icky looking....my Fire Dance 'Patricia' is really bad with it. It's a newer plant to the collection, and my new growth looks better. I always figured it was something I was doing wrong. lol

Yeah, I thought the same thing. So I tried to up the water intake and plump up the leaves only to get black rot...I have a Firedance Patricia as well, but she's probably too young to show this issue.

My BLC. Lucky strike is doing the same, but only in the older leaves. They seem to curl up after about a year, but they won't dry and stay on the bulb for another 1 to 2 years. My plant is also a specimen plant with a big bunch of about 35 pseudobulbs.

Chris can you tell the name of this cattelya, such breathtaking orange flowers, it has to go to my wish list.

Unfortunately, it was a stray given to me by a neighbor...and I don't have a name tag. Orange is my favorite color though and I love this one...it's not looking so good right now. I divided it up into three smaller pots and took out any that showed signs of rot. Here in Dallas, he had about two solid weeks of rain (highly unusual for us) and it affected them. I ordered some Physan 20 which I should get this week and I'll dunk them all as a precaution.

I think this has something to do with humidity. No matter how good of a waterer you are, catts just like high humidity...its like lube for plant cells! At the end o the day, if humidity is hard for you to regulate, I don't think curling leaves is a huge deal...your plant looks great anyways!! It does stink to have curled leaves, but at the end of the day, you gotta pick your battles ya know?
