Another of Nick Tannaci's crosses. This one is (Conco-bellatulum 'Beast' x S. Gratrix 'Lemon'). S. Gratrix is (bellatulum x godefroyae), and Conco-bellatulum is (concolor x bellatulum), making this hybrid:

Concolor usually gives a cream-to-yellow background color, and here the S. Gratrix parent bears the clonal name 'Lemon', which seems to imply some yellow color as well—perhaps this can help to explain why this bloom is greenish! I've never seen a Brachy this color before.

man, that is an awesome looking flower...

re: the green, how long has it been open? maybe it will fade to a lemon colour later on... although the other parent might have more to say about the end result colour of the baby.

Only a couple days—if it changes, I'll definitely post a new pic.

I can't remember hearing of a Paph that changes color, though; just Laeliinae. I guess we'll find out!
