Has anyone heard of a Paph.or Phrag. testing positive for a virus ? I don't remember reading that in all my surfing . If so which one ? are the symptoms the same as in others ? Just curious, saw a line on Clint's post and it made me wonder . Gin

My understanding is that the incidence of virus is less in Paphs and Phrags than some other orchids (esp. Catts and Phals). This is most likely due to the fact that cutting tools are used less frequently on them and they are not propogated by meristem cloning in mass production. They also don't tend to show obvious symptoms, so may be infected but only showing signs of decreased vigor.

I knew about the dividing and the meristem .I guess my question should of read are they capable of being infected with the same virus as Catts. and Phals. .
Guess that is a yes . Thanks for the reply it is appreciated![]()
