I thought I would lean on the experience of our members that grow inside a "controlled environment". I am keeping the room at 80-83F during the day, although some overcast days leave it at a high of 73F. At night I am able to keep the lowest temp around 61-63, although on warmer evenings it may stay as high as 68. My humidity is hovering around 50-60%, up to 80% after the misting unit is turned on.
Having said all that, this is my question: What plants should I concentrate on? So far I am having great success with my Phals, my smaller catts (for a change) are thriving, even the larger catts are throwing the nicest roots. But my Vandas are so not doing good. They keep developing a black mold around the base. I'm wondering if the living room wasn't better for my oncid types, as since the move they have stopped doing well.
I would so appreciate some help...i'm thinking about reorganizing and some of my problem plants will get listed on the Bidz site here, some possibly soon. I thought I was doing so well with the front porch, moving them indoors has brought me a whole new set of problems though. I have been trying to keep the fans running while the misting/high humidity is going on...maybe I need another fan or two???
Thanks in advance for the advice....sometimes I feel completely stupid even after all the studying i've done the last three years. Guess maybe I should have taken a few more courses in stuff like Botony!
