What do you mean by orchidarium?? Do you mean a regular greenhouse? Wardian case? Sunroom?
terrarium
Check out this guy's set up. He has detailed pictures and advice on how it was done.

what are the demensions of your orchidarium?
I am planning one, haven't gotten around to making it yet. I wanted to use an old fish tank, but those aren't really in supply >.>. I am looking at getting a couple of custom glass pieces and making myself one. Dimensions are 3' tall x 3' deep x 4' wide with the front panel actually 2 panes of glass the same size with some sort of hinge to open in the middle and an open top so I can rig up a lighting mount and hoses for a humidifier/fogger and a fan mount. I wanted to do a homemade wooden frame. I have also been looking at synthetic materials, but I need to find something that can withstand, heat and moisture very well... so far, lots of planning and not much else...
Perspex can withstand heat and moisture, it's lighter than glass and it won't break as wasy as glass, also drilling is very easy with a regular driller while in glass you need special driller or to pay for a drilling service.
Thanks!
