My first encounter with these "air plants" was 17 years ago and I bought one out of curiousity. Plants growing, glued to a seashell, isn't that cool? OK, I agree with Kev, the seashell is gross.
Anyway, my curiousity didn't became a passion, which is why I only have a few including some pups of my first which is still a NOID (too lazy to do research)
The one in pic is T concolor, I like this one because it look like mini pineapple plant to me, and yes, the leaves are very stiff. Growing under full sun until midday. The flowers are insignifant,( to me at least) but some people find the spike cool. When this one was growing under full shade, the spike was longer and flatter looking like a sword. Now that it is in full sun, the spike is rounder and I'm not sure if it will grow longer but I think it will not look like a sword this time
.
Oh, this one was originally growing mounted on a log but it was knocked off by the freak storm last week. It will go back to its mount when DH finished putting back the shade on the roof.
I was rambling, wasn't I?
