What would they look like??

I was just wondering what the plant and flowers would look like if I pollinated these two orchids. And does anyone know exactly what kind these are? A phalaenopsis _________? And what is the other one?
The first one is very, very dark with bright neon lime green accents and a very interesting scent. The second one is a dark purple (I hate how much the flash ruins the color).

Well sorry to say a Miltassia won't cross with a Phalenopsis. They're not related at all.

I've already pollinated them though. It's starting to swell and the flower is dying.
Will it produce a seed pod, then die? Or will it produce a fake seed pod or something?
I just felt like experimenting with the flowers and see what I can get.

I'm not sure if it will produce a seed capsule but I wouldn't waste the plants energy.

Oh. Do you think I should cut the flower off then?
What if it DOES produce a seed pod though, couldn't that potentially be an entirely new flower?

The plants are too distantly related to produce viable offspring. The pod will probably abort within a month. If the pod did mature it would contain sterile (nonviable) seed. Pity isn't it, though? If such a cross could work, it could wind up with some interesting flowers.

Do try again with plants that are more closely related, and to see possible results more quickly, try mini-catts or something else that blooms more quickly from seed. It's fun.

I've pollinated a few of my phals and so far it's looking great! It's really exciting.
