Hi Raver, is this your birthday present opening its blooms? It's very pretty. I'm sorry I can't help with identifying it for you, but I'm hoping someone on this forum can.
no this one i got it before my birthday and it only had the sheaths and then the sheaths opened up and this came out lol. for my bday i got a potinara chief sweet orange and an Angraecum Didieri. but you can say this was my early bday present to myself lol.

Looks EXACTLY like my cattleya intermedia. Wish I still had it...it bloomed ALL the time! Wonderful orchid. Mine did not have any smell...does yours? Please let me know...Betty
Doesn't look like intermedia to me. It could be a C. dubiosa hybrid.

Well, the tag said cattleya intermedia. I bought it from one of the members of the Minnesota orchid Society, a LONG time ago. Maybe someone look it up for Byron?
Betty :-)

Byron, I looked on images, (google) and I believe that it IS the c. intermedia. Betty :-)
No betty i dont think it has a smell or i just cant tell lol, i've been looking at the intemedia and it kinda looks like one of them =) and yes this one will bloom all the time. they have 2 other orchids like mine at one of my local nurseries and they are the same one as the one i have and this is the second time i see them blooming in 5 months lol. i think i will buy both of themand maybe share one with betty since she dont have hers anymore

I believe that it is called cattleya intemedia, because it is not as large as a regular cattleya. Hence the name cattleya intermedia ( which means medium! ) And Byron, I know that you're just kidding me, about sending me one! Betty :-)
i'm not really kiddingi might divide mine or just get another one
