Seed pod/Cymbidium

A few weeks ago i was researching about how to polinate an orchid, so i tried to do it with my cymbidium 'Eliot Rogers'. I just wanted to try it because it seemed fun, but i never thought it would've worked. So lately i've been noticing that 3 flowers on my Cym are dead but the thing that holds the flowers is green and fat. i dont know if its a seed pod but it looks like its getting bigger. What do you guys think?

cool, so how long does it take for the seed pod to be ready and how can i know if it will produce plants. i was reading a thing and it said that sometimes if you self polinate a plant that it might give you a seed pod but the seeds wont grow or anything???

For hybrid cymbidiums the min time is about 7 months and the maximum time is about 9 months. The pod will start to lighten in color when it begins to mature. You can wait for it to split and open and send it in as dry seed as well and there is some debate on whether this gives a higher rate of success. You will have to sterilize the seed if the pod does split.

And yes it is possible to get a pod, wait the 8-9 months and find no viable seed at all. I've had this happen.

lol, i tried the polination thing with a dendrobium and the flowers are dying and the thing its swelling up so i think i got another seed pod. i will post pics so you guys can tell me what you think about it =)
