Another blooming orchid in the Philippines.
We called this plant "Rock Orchid" because they loved crushed claypots as their growing media.

Derek, this is beautiful... any tips on how to bloom this baby? Mine is not showing any signs
of flowering.... I grow it in full sun and potted with large charcoal as media, the only thing
it does at the moment is make new growths, i think it has around 4 new babies now. I
know its flowering size already because it already has a spent spike when i got it last year.
Be patient. Your media is alright but it needs half a meter of its plant size to bear many spikes at one time. Because your plant is newly gathered, it sets back and you need to increase its growth by applying organic fertilizer. Do as what Vanda flowering requirements. But for our plant, they are planted in the ground, natural growth and it takes 2 years to bloom.
Well its about 2-3ft tall already, I guess patience is the key. Thanks.
Randy, I need also patience to get it or you can give me your plant.
Sure Mietek, I can give you one of the babies..... it has 4 at the moment.
Wonderful: I always wantyed one of these, but it is a bit on the big side
That's beautiful. It's most probably the most colourful of the vandopsis. Yes vandopsis do tend to be rather big.
look at that! Amazing color in those Vandopsis blooms.
Cheers,
