Pot size uncertainty

Just got a couple new orchids in the mail and maybe I'm wrong, but they look like they're in far too large of pots. In order left to right, these are Den. kingianum, Mtssa. Darkstar 'Darth Vader' and Mtssa. Charles M. Fitch 'Izumi'. What does anyone think?

I agree. Especially the one on the bottom right.

I think this seller is trying to get away with describing plants as "3.5-4 inch pots" that don't need to be in pots that big. Grrr. Live and learn. . . and repot.

Not the Dendrobium? I've not tried to grow Den. kingianum but I'm used to seeing that genus in pots that look way too small for the size of the plant.

It's disappointing when sellers do this stuff...way overpotted...i totally agree.

The dendrobium seems ok but the miltassias looke overpotted especially the last one

The miltassia in the round pot is a single bulb? Was that a freebie?

Ha, no, not a freebie at all. The seller described it as "near blooming size, likely to flower within 18 months or so. It is freshly repotted in sphagnum moss in a 4 inch pot" and it went for $8.50 plus shipping. They refunded me for that and the other Mtssa, plus part shipping, which is good, but I wanted, you know, the size of plant advertised.

This is exactly why I don't buy mail-order. The plants I've gotten in the past were never what was advertized. It really ticks me off!!!!!

Yes, repot into smaller containers.
