Help!...Bugs

I was just looking over my babies, which I do dozens of times a day, and noticed that one of my phal. noids had bugs. They were small, maybe 1/16 to 1/8 inch long. They were kind of pinkish white. I say were because I took no chances and doused the plant with malathion. It was in an area away from the main body of my other babies thankfully, but I will be on alert for a while. It was surrounded by african violets and one other phal. noid. I haven't seen any on the others. I didn't take pictures, I just took action. From my limited description, can any one tell me what they think they might be and what I should do next? Should I rinse the insecticide off later, etc? Thanks for any help.

Do they look like little pieces of cotton and they have like white hairs around their body, if they do they might have been mealy bugs

No, they were not hairy. I don't think that they were mealies as I just looked at a pic of those a couple of days ago and that wasn't what they looked like. They were smooth and they didn't look like the armored scale either. To me that looks like a raised water spot. When I nudged one with a finger nail it moved on its own.

I checked out this link Insect and Arthropod Pest Identi and I think I have soft bodied brown scale. It is the only thing that looked close to what I saw. Well, it has been well and thouroughly doused!!! Now to keep an eye on everyone else.

Just keep spraying every week or every 10 days. i dont think i would spray more than 4 times
