thrips are the ones that suck all life from your plants eh?
if thats their method, use neem granules, they are organic, and not a chemical which can be harmful to (most) animal life and plant life and bugs HATE them with a vengeance. they have some toxin, which the plants drink up and it is stored in the stems and leaves. when a bug eg thrips or aphids comes along and starts sucking the life from the plant, they get a blast of toxins and die from starvation a few days later. use very sparingly on orchids though. i seem to be the only person to use this on them.
Very effective it is preparations about name Vertimec, Biospin.
