Vanda Robert delight 'Garnet Beauty'

This flower is about 5 inches across. Big and impressive, but I am perhaps getting a bit blase about big Vandas, and long for more interesting ones. The old proverb is true - the grass is always greener on the other side of the street...
A spike of 8 flowers , but a couple of the buds blasted from being too close to the glass on too cold a night. And of course Vanda flowers open at about 50%-60% full size, and take a week to grow to full size. So this is the only one at full size so far , and maybe with extra social activity surrounding Christmas, not to mention the terrible weather we are being threatened with ( "expect a 10 deg drop on Thursday night" and it was minus 2 when I went out before dawn today, anyway ! ) I may not want to bring plants out of the greenhouse for photography whjen it is at its best.
If you like big Vandas , and most of the time I do ( or should that be, "did" ? ) this is one to look out for.
