I bought this as a seedling in a 3 in pot two years ago because I wanted to try paphio crosses. However I didn't have much faith in it being able to bloom in the lowlands as spicerianum grows under intermediate to cool conditions.I'm pleasantly surprised that it is blooming now. As both parents are sequential bloomers I expect it to exhibit the same characteristic and I already see another two buds forming.
I did a search on Google re primary hybrids usingspicerianum x paphs from the Cochlopetalum section and could find only 2 - Paph Zollingeri (spicerianumx victoria-regina) and Paph Lemonade (spicerianum x primulinum). I wonder if anyone has registered this cross.
The flower is 3in across and I think the influence of spicerianum is in the dorsal sepal, particularly the size, shape and the central vertical stripe and the rest is mostly liemianum influenced.
