Oh, that is very cool. The red stripes are fantastic against the yellow. Great pic, thanks for posting it. Do you think if I've bloomed a different Potinara (Hoku Gem) successfully that this plant would accept the same light, or is there a lot of variability in this hybrid?
Matt
Matt-Remember I just got this plant so haven't grown it but I just give all my pots the same light & they bloom so ask me next year![]()
Very nice, Jane. I have yet to rebloom my few Potinaras. Thanks for sharing this one.
It's lovely - it almost looks fake (in a good way!) And happy early birthday!
Julie
I get the impression that Potinara are on the smaller size,
is this true of your new beauty?
It's a nice close photo to get a good look at the bloom,
so I'm guessing the flower size is about 3" wide?
I love huge flowers, but most of the time they come on huge plants, too.
Thanks for sharing a picture, and pre-happy birthday, too.
That's a lovely flower Jane, the colours are so bright.... and happy b'day to u too.
Cheers
Tim
Ennui....I bought a blooming Pot. Burana Beauty Burana from mike, and rebloomed it this year, so I am assuming it is a mature plant (or, to put it more clearly, it's as big as it is going to get height wise), and it isn't a monster....heck, its pretty compact for a catt...not a mini, but certainly manageable, and you are correct on the flower size, it's about 3"
thanks for the info, MichigooseOH,
I don't know why but I just have this prejudice that all
catts grow up to be in 18" pots with flowers the size of your head,
or stay in 3" pots and only have 1/2" flowers.
I know there's gotta be a happy medium,
and by getting a feel for what's out there,
I'll hopefully be better informed.
Thanks again.
Very pretty Jane ! Mine ,the red is not as bright..
Ennui,
these are more compact than a standard catt...probably half the size, and easy to bloom.
