    Default Sarcoglottis Sceptrodes

I took this photo at my orchid society meeting. I was cleaning off my camera and found it. I thought it was an interesting looking orchid and wanted to share it here. It is not my orchid, so I will not be offended if someone doesn't like it ...lol! Enjoy if you can, not my cup of tea, but it is interesting.

Cool. You two made this fun. I see snakes or swan necks.

I was thinking one of the animal headed gods of ancient Egypt with its arms outstretched (each bloom)

I see sea horse as well. Green flowers are always so cool looking. I wonder what pollinates that creature in nature?

Very interesting. Connie, I agree; it does look like a praying mantis to me.

sarcoglotti specloss (?) I have a redish one about to bloom. It's like old faithful, every year, no fuss. I just leave it alone and it just grows and bloooms with very little care. NGK

I have seen that not every orchid is drop dead beautiful. Some are unique and interesting and maybe that's enough. AL
