Air roots falling off!

I have a phalaenopsis, which I recently asked for crown rot help. But now I've noticed one of the roots is falling off. It is basically the last healhy air root, it is quite long and has many roots branching off. It is green and white and looks healthy, but the point where it starts coming out of the pot it is loose and about to fall off, I shall post a picture when I get a chance. What is this from? And I also have a small glass terrarium sitting in my window. How are these for raising orchids? I have not had much success lately. My flowers hardly ever rebloom for me since I've discovered an interest in orchids. Any general advice?

Hard to say anything constructive without a picture of your root.
But I will speculate for you.

A phal root has a central thin core (the actual root) and the velamen, the thick outer part that do absorb water fast when wetted. You say that it is at the border of the pot it starts to get "lose" I think the following can have happen. By accident the hole root has been cracked or snapped, possibly aganst the pot, and damage. The velamen is not as though as the central core and, if damage, dry and skrink. Therefore the central core hold the root together and it looks like the root starts to break off.
