did you grow it from a seedling?
I have always wanted to stumble across one at a local nursery. I think they are one of the coolest of the Cattleya! Congrats on your first flower!
No, I bought it from Eucagenera. After such a long trip, it really needs time to recover... I guess the other reason is I am not very good at growing orchids...
Wonderful lip on this cattleya orchid.
cheers,

Very pretty and interesting Cattleya! I would love to see its hybrid progeny.
Is it potted in sphagnum ? If yes, I think this is not a good idea for this Cattleya. The roots need to dry quickly enough, particularly in winter. A classical bark mix is better in my opinion. It should bloom in March-April and be bigger since 4 years.
Anyway, congratulations for this first blooming. I love this Cattleya.
Interesting little cattleya. I've never seen that one before. Good growing.
