Default Droopy Flowers on oncidium orchid

I acquired this Oncidiium Wils. Pacific Perspective "Pacific Heat' at a local society meeting last December. It develped two nice spikes but was slow to open and now I find the flowers to be small and droopy.
    What is wrong?

I have had this problem a couple times and have always discovered that it is a problem with the roots or lack there of. Usually have discovered that it is root rot.

Thanks, Bill. I will pop it out of the pot and take a look at the roots.

    Thanks again,

    Dave
