Oncidium - Dancing lady - New spike while in bloom?

Hello, i am new to this forum.

I have an oncidium that I bought 1 month ago ----vendor information removed - see faqs on posting!----
I think the plant is doing pretty well, but want your input.

I also noticed I have a new spike coming. Is this normal for a oncidium to grow new spikes while they are in bloom?

When oncidiums are happy, they do what they want. Its a bit difficult to tell from the pic, but it looks like a new growth. Mine frequently are in both cycles simultaneously.

I don't know what is considered "normal" but I have one now that has 8 spikes 2' to 3'. I figured is was done with spikes and is now working on blooming. I noticed yesterday a 9th spike coming out, I don't think there is a rule on that. Now that I think about it, I have another Oncidium that has lost its flowers from its first spike and has now sent out 2 more spikes.

I may be wrong but I think the new spike is to the right of that new growth. Maybe the poster can clarify.

It is very difficult to take a picture/video of the new spike, but i am posting one here. Thanks for the replies.
The new spike looks like a 2 pronged fork.

Looks to be a new growth and not a spike. Some one else can chime in on fert, I use miracle grow for orchids.

How do you differentiate between a growth and a spike? The 2 pronged folk looking thing....

New growth looks like the "two fork" description you gave, Those "two forks" are future leaves. Spikes normally come out as a single stalk (without the two forks) that will eventually send out buds and then flowers. Hope this helps. I have attached a pic on my Oncidium with 9 spikes along with a couple of closeups. Also, notice the spikes are coming out of the base of the leaf not the PB.
