Two Blooms that have weathered the intense heat and now the rains.
Wow! both very nice!
Both are pretty but the vanda is like wow. That is gorgeous.
Beautiful! I love that dark red.

Angela both are great looking but that red one is incredible..
Angela, me thinks Marg Thatcher isn't a Vanda. Appears to have "A" lot of Arachnis in it, possibly even some Renanthera.
Thanks Roy. Bought from a Reputable Nursery, took 3 years to bloom, I never thought to question the Tag. I have now done a search and cannot find a Vanda with that name, but I found Mokara. M.T. the flowers are not as intense red as are mine.
Hope someone else will respond with their input.
Thank you anway.
Angela , very pretty . I like the Vanda's intense color but that Den is niiice![]()
Both are lovely, Angela. Have not head of V Margaret Thatcher but your picture doesn't look like a vanda and I agree with Roy - it has a lot of Arachnis influence as well as Renanthera. I would suggest an Aranthera as the shape and colour suggest that.
BTW there is a Den Margaret Thatcher, a horn-type dendrobium named by the Singapore Botanic Gardens to commemorate the visit of the then British PM's visit to Singapore. In the Singapore Botanic Gardens there is a section named the VIP Orchid section where orchids named after heads of states and celebrities to commemorate their visits to Singapore are exhibited.
I like them both Angela, but that Vanda is really exceptional. AL
