I have my Phal. near the window, should it be rotated on a regular basis, or kept facing the sun? I am new to these orchids, I usually kill them. The one orchid that literally shivers when I come near.

I too grow mine near the window I don't turn them because this wastes energy for them to keep adjusting. They will grow towards the light both spikes and leaves. Congrats to being a new orchid grower
Well, I rotate mine from time to time, by 30 o every 4 days to be precise (Did I tell anyone before that I have mild OCD hehe) That makes the plant grow balanced also the same about flowers. If you do not rotate you will have leaning tower of Pisa hehe. If you do it regularly I do not think it affects energy dynamics.
Sorry if I mislead you Jai, but I have been growing orchids for 2 years now,.... anything else but Phals. On reading my post again, I can see why you thought I was a beginner.
I rotate mine to keep them looking symmetrical but once the spikes start growing I face the plant the way I want it to grow and leave it.
