What I can say is very striking vanda and so beautiful Cathy I like the markings on the petals, lovely.
I love the colors on that one. Beautiful!
Love the beautiful bold coloring on this vanda orchid!
cheers,

Wow! A lovely, lovely vanda, Cathy!
Another excellent Vanda Cathy ! Love the spots and the color !
Good growing as usual Cathy. I love the dramatic contrasts of colour from the brown (red) spots to the deep purple lip. Simply lovely.
The colors on your's are great Cathy! So vivid and yet deep. Another thing I love about this Vanda is the fact that it blooms in my experience three to four times a year and the blooms can last six to eight weeks. Any way it is a wonderful orchid! AL
Oh wow! Thats certainly an attention getter...great spots!

Stunning indeed ! I am specially envious since for the first time for a good few years I don't have a single vanda bloom in the greenhouse - due to losing every spike when the whole collection overheated earlier this year.
I have a reasonable number starting, but the best and most advanced is still a month or two away. Curious how Vanda spikes seem to be more susceptible to heat damage than anything else !
But named vandas f this kind are not commonly available in UK - most of the plants on sale are those imported from one particular Bangkok nursery, on the basis of "supply me with 1000 Vandas of FS or in spike" without the UK dealer who does the importing knowing ( or caring) what he is importing. I have tried asking him to order specific things for me, but he is not interested... grrr !
The named things I actually have are mostly personal imports from my own trips , but those are getting to be rare or none-existent - one of the penalties of age being that people start demanding details of my travel insurance before they will sell me a ticket ( some EU Regulation apparently makes the airline pay the bill for bringing me back if I am ill or even dying or dead ! ) and getting insurance can even double the cost of the trip.
So I just have to be envious and admire the sort of orchid you show here, and regret that it is very unlikely that I shall ever get my hands on one.
