epi Lake View Angel white

tag says white ,when I received the plant it was blooming white with a hint of pink, but after that all blooms have come out this watermelon pink/ yellow combo that fades to a soft salmon pink/ yellow combo. I don't know if it's the temperature, or if it's just a hybrid reverting back to one of it's original crosses. I've come to like the color combo.

they are supposed to start out yellow/orange and fade to white/pink. i have one, for over a year now, but no blooms because every time it is close i accidentally snap the stem off. i have a couple lake view hybrids, and they are all very brittle for epidendrum. i'm constantly knocking off leaves or snapping stems by just slightly moving them. i guess a side defect of the larger flowers and shorter growths. you cannot bend the stems at all! but flower size and colors on this family of hybrids are wonderful. i also have lake view #775 and it stays orange and yellow.

thank you for your reply, mine has never acheived the white it first had when I received it in bloom, as the flowers fade they still retain more yellow , which makes me think it is temp related. Christmas cactus can be the same problem here , if it is too warm or humid the color changes a lot. I have one other lakeview type, a pink , I like both . thanks again

Love the 'sherbert' colors and those fine spots seem rather exceptional for a Epidendrum Bloom. AL
