I'm such an orchid geek

My miltoniopsis has an emerging flower spike! A second leaf poking out on my Masdevallia ( and I've only had it like 2 and a half weeks!) the buds are moving around on my BLc haw than beauty ... And roots are growing like mad in my other ones....I got a huge pot of water boiling to create lots if humidity right now and the fan on low to nice the air around in my sunroom where my orchids grow. They make me so happy I'm such a geek !

No Geek...just into them and enjoying it. You may want to consider a room cool air, humidifier for the sunroom. That is what I used when I was growing in my sunroom. A ceiling fan also works well for air circulation.

When does your orchidarium arrive? I'm sure it will be a relief to be able to stop boiling water.... LOL!! And you simply MUST share pics!! (I have two Miltoniopsis plants in bud now, too! One is just starting to open. It must be Miltoniopsis bloom time right around now!) I am just ITCHING to put my plants outside, but it's still not warm enough yet except for the Cymbidiums, which are enjoying the sunshine. My sunny deck is my "orchidarium" in the warmer months!

There is nothing like growing orchids to give a person a grin. And compared to the news lately, it is so nice to hear a happy person enjoying their hobby! Being a geek is a good thing and I too cannot wait to see your flowers!

I was trying to explain to my husband how taking care of my orchids on a daily basis doesn't qualify as "work." He didn't get it. (He was suggesting I cut down on some of my orchids so I'd have more free time to do, you know... enjoyable stuff. Whatever he was referring to that is supposed to be more enjoyable than caring for my orchids is honestly beyond me... )
