That looks a lot like one of my plants. Mine must be a hybrid of yours as they look almost exactly alike. I love how they bloom one flower after another...and when you get the angle just right you can see all the tiny wiry hairs and warts. Funny to talk about a flower having warts and hairs...lol!

A very lovely paph. Great shots of the bloom. Most taxonomists consider this a Paph primulinum fma purpurascens and not a separate species by itself. Last year, a friend gave me a small plant of the typical primulinum with the light concolor yellow. I hope it will bloom this year.
yes...paphiopedilum primulinum var purpurascens is her full name, the other var is paph primulinum var alba which is yellow in colour
It's var. flavum.
Actually, since the yellow form was described first, and is considered the type for the species, there is no forma album or flavum recognized. The yellow type form can be called Paph. primulinum var. primulinum if you insist on distinguishing it from var. purpurascens.
