    Do Sophronitis need a dry period or is this beautiful flower induced by a cold period?

    In general both. But I manage to flower some clones with the only limited cold and dry periods.
    This one spend the summer on my balcony up until the first freezing. If held in constant warm climate I find them grow continuously and flower less good. The buds also develope slower in cold climate but the color gets more vibrant.
