LC Trick or Treat

i grew this outside all winter, and mounted it sideways into my "orchid tree" made of stacked tree fern pots on a stake. it got pretty bright light, and is the first time i have reflowered it. before it was indoors, south facing window, but just not enough light i guess to produce a sheath.

Very nice color! I like the simpler form on catts like these. I find them more elegant than the big frilly floofs.

personally, i love this fiery orange color. it's such a deep color. it doesn't seem to be real at first. people can have their pale pinks and whites, but i want fierce color, and this one has it. i'm glad this has been used a lot in breeding of new hybrids.

I am with you coeruleo. I want bright, and/or bold coloring. I am not a big fan of white orchid flowers for that very reason.

I have never seen a Trick or Treat that wasn't beautiful. Not only is it worthwhile in its own right, it has been used very successfully in breeding many times. This hybrid is composed mostly of species that are "rupicolous" meaning that they are high light and grow primarily on a rock substrate. Although hybrids are much more tolerant than species, I imagine that compared to a normal Cattleya hybrid, this would be happiest with more light, more drainage, and allowing it to dry well between waterings.
