Den Hono Hono culture?

I have one at work that I would like to bring home, or maybe let it go through its growing cycle then bring it home. I never really pulled too much info on it. Any pendulous Den info would be appreciated and committed to memory. Thanks

just been having a look at the royal hort soc. http://www.rhs.org.uk/research/regis...chidsearch.asp
but was unable to locate it in there data base.
But generally the pedulous dendrobs like a dry winter with bright light.
Without knowing the back ground I am unable to say wheather it is deciduous or not,as some are.

I don't see Hono Hono as a registered grex. How about Honomanu? That's as close as I can find.

Hono Hono is a Hawaiian nickname. Those are Den Anosmum. There is quite a bit of info out there on growing these. google 'den anosmum' or 'hono hono orchid'

Oh! Ok...This one I know! (Dend. anosmum, aka Dend. superbum)..although you don't really want to think what the namer was into on that last one!

Water and fert throughout the growing season like crazy. In the fall when the leaves start to brown and drop (it's deciduous - don't freak), stop watering. Wait until the first signs of growth in late winter/early spring to resume watering.

The flowers will pop out of the bare pendulous canes soon after that. (With luck...)

Syn. anosmum; has a period of dormancy after blooming while still leafless - keep warmer with humidity is OK while growth is growing, chill as for nobile types as growth finishes for maximum bloom; that's what I do.
