Laelonia Dave's Dapper Dandee is a cross between Broughtonia negrilensis and Laelia crawshayana and we didn't know that it had a name until someone in this orchid forum pointed it out two years ago.
It isn't difficult to grow but the flower quality can vary drastically in that the colors mix into each other at times and the flowers get speckled/muddy. It varies from year to year and I don't know what causes the problem. Maybe it is just the trait from Bro. negrilensis that makes the the coloring of the flowers less distinct.
This year five out of seven flowers were OK and I show the best ones here.
