Just for fun and educational purposes, I am posting a few pictures of one of my babies that finally decided to bloom. I'll give a couple of hints, and if you think you know what the name is, PM me and I'll let you know if you are right.
You can post questions in this thread and I will answer them for everyone to see - except for questions like "what is it's name" and "what are the parents" I will answer yes and no if you want to guess a parent, but once one is identified I won't answer guesses on the second parent... There you have your first clue........
This plant is blooming for the first time after being with me for about 16 months. I thought the blooming growth was mature when I got it - obviously slow growing stock. The second growth is now as large as the first was... (Your second clue)
The flower's lovely maroon markings are little less purple in person. It has a span of 6" between the tips of the twisting petals. Even though this is a first bloom, it has 6 buds/blooms, 3 open, 1 starting to open, The leaf span on the mature growth is 34". (Last clues)
Don't be shy - give it a try!!!
