Blue Clematis

I,ve been feeding 1 off my Clematis with the run off from watering my
orchids.I use mainly natural ferts now & this seems to suit this plant very well.
This Clematis has been growing for many many years , according to some of the old codgers the plant has been there since the 1930's.
It flowers in June with big flowers(8"+) & again about October time with smaller flowers but a lot more.

Colours are very accurate except the purplish tones @ the edges are more vivid.
As to a name for the plant

It's beautiful! I love the history. I would just believe the plant has been there that long! No doubt.
I am growing some from seeds - it's a painful wait for the impatient! But if I can ever get them to grow, they will be amazing to look at!!! I've never seen any like them.

A beautiful example of one of the old classic clematis. I had one just like it in North Carolina that grew like a week. But they don't grow well in So. Cal., too dry....

I am sure using the orchid water run off helps it a great deal. They are pretty tough once established, but they need food to bloom well.
