Photo reminds me of when i noticed my firet Phrag bloom.
The light shining through the window gives you a peek of the buds to come.
The spikes can grow very fast @ this early stage , over 1" a day for mine is not uncommon for my big lads.

Well done Tikva... you beat me to it! I have never yet bloomed a phragmipedium! I should be asking you what the secret is!

I finally get it. I see what's happening. I never looked closely enough at the inside most leaves. They thin down inside to be the size of a flower stem! They curve outward to make the protective shape of a bud. I GET IT! AND I can see my flower bud inside!!!!
I'm scared to make this post because who knows if I will give it the care it needs to open for me. I have so little faith. But HOW COOL....
