Hey! It's orange so it's gotta be good. No kidding, great job getting it to bloom.

One of my cacti out front finally bloomed!
I've never had a cactus bloom before & this one is beautiful with just a hint of fragrance. The bloom is only about 3 inches across.
This is the 2nd flower, 1st one was prettier (only lasted 3 days) & I still have 1 bud left to open![]()

WOW! That is wonderful! how big is the plant?
Cin
plant is only about 2 ft. high, pieces break off & I just stick them back in the pot. Believe me, I did nothing to make it bloom. I have certain plants that do fine with some water & sun, the ones I baby are the ones that give me problems....LOL!!!!
Beautiful ! the blooms are hard to beat , prettier than some OrchidsGin
Whoa - very pretty, Val! I haven't seen a cactus bloom like that, either. Thanks for posting!

WOW! Love the color on that cactus bloom!!! It is cool your blooms last three days. My cactus only blooms over night and then the next morning, it fades fast.
Cheers!

That bloom is spectacular! So, a naive question, what happens after the flower? Anything like a fruiting body?
Nothing yet, but I'll keep checkingOriginally Posted by Sarah

Cactii have surprisingly pretty blooms. I never thought they would have such remarkable inflorescences until I started visiting nurseries. Thanks for the pics, they look great.
