What to do about algae?

Noticed green, what I think is algea inside my Phals plastic pot. It is potted in repotme moss.

Is it too wet? Too warm? Will it affect roots? Should it be repotted in bark? How can I avoid this in the future?

Dont worry, it is no harm to the plant, but it is a sign you are keeping it too wet as Jason suggested in the previous thread. But iff the plant is happy, and showing no signs of stress or weakening, leave it in

If you want to avoid algae in the future, use opaque pots. Algae will still grow on the surface of the pot, but not in the dark.

Personally, i quite like it n the clear pots, it gives them a bit more colour lol, while still being able to see the roots-mostly.

You can always double pot it, this is what I do. I like to use clear pots so as to be able to see the root condition and growth. I just put the clear pot into a bigger opaque one, this way as no light reaches the media I do not have algae and I can regularly check the status of the roots.

I never see algae as an issue. It tells me the humidity is good in the shade house when I see it. It can also tell you when bark media has really started to break down and you might need to repot.

Thank-you for your quick responses. It seems that my biggest problem is over-watering this Phal. planted in moss.
I watered this plant from above. Is it better to dunk it? The plastic pot has plenty of holes on the bottom
( repotme ) but none on the sides. Should it be repotted in a pot with more drainage? Should the medium be changed to bark? Very apprehensive about watering.
