Can I use these 2 together?

Can I use these 2 Dend. together, and if so what might come about from it? I am also new to this, so what exactly would I have to do to get pods? And what to do with the pods? Thanks

I am not sure what you are asking here, but I think you want to know can you cross these two dends? The answer: yes. The outcome depends on the pod parent and the pollen parent. I know others know so much more about this than I do, so just be patient. Someone will know how to help you.

From my understanding the pod parent has more dominance than the pollen parent, usually. There are some dominant traits that get through regardless though because they are so dominant.

In this case if you want more of a chance for either of the two colors, then use that one as the pod parent. That seems to be the most obvious selection between the two.

I'm not a dend expert at all but I think they will hybridize because they look very simliar. try it out. I can imagine a purple lip and greenish yellow petals/sepals with either red veination or blush. Let the pollen soak in saliva for 10 min so that the enzymes will break down the ID protiens (whatever they are called), this helps pollenations because the plant won't know who the pollen came from so won't reject it (its suppost to help).

I do exactly the same and got orchid pods every time. In your case, you take the pollen from yellow flower and put it into stigma of red flower. Try the other way, take pollen of red and insert into stigma of yellow. The next few days the stigma will be swollen if its' good. If it's not the flower will fall down. That's it. Just wait and see. In general, den. takes about a year to be a rippening pod. About 9 months pods could be used for green pod sowing or you can wait for pods to be full rippen then sow them. You can sow seeds your self or send them to a lab. If everthing is going well you will have thousand of seedlings. It takes about 3-5 years for seedling to be old enough for blooming.
Forget to tell you the most important when polinating: ENJOY THE BLOOMING; when you see the first flowers will fall, pollen them. You will get flowers next time. Good luck.
