    Default Megalotus bifidus, my accidental passenger

    Megalotus is a monotypic genus; it is endemic to the Philippines. The generic name refers to the ear-like appendages on the column. The specific name refers to the split labellum.

    The plant was a passenger, I found it growing inside the big pot of Coelogyne asperata that I got about a month ago.

    What a nice surprise! I love the delicate colors and the crystalline appearance of the petals. Not to mention that unique lip!
