This is the second blooming for this Beallara. Last year it started on Dec. 1; this year Nov. 27...pretty consistent. From the flower, it is difficult to see any Brassia in this cross....must be far back in the ancestry.

Can't say I've seen colors quite like that before--very unusual and pretty! Do your intergenetics tend to be large plants with several spikes? Gosh, if you weren't in Canada, I'd be fishing for a division. LOL
Some are large with leaves over 2 feet; others are relatively small with 8" leaves. Mine usually have just a single spike at a time but that too varies with the cross.
Very pretty flowers! Gotta love it
Dang, that is CUTE!!!! (and I don't say 'cute' very often!!!)
What a beauty and fantastic photo!
bestill my heart!! oh my!! thats fracking incredible!!!
The shading of the edges is incredible! It looks like a painting more than a photo! Nice photo, by the way!
Your little guys is only 12% Brassia, which is why you see so little influence. Onc crispum is the greatest contributor to the gene pool at 31%. Now for the painful news. This genus is called: Goodaleara (Gdlra.) The name Dancing Matador is cool though! The difference from Beallara (Brs x Cda x Milt x Odm) is the addition of Onc. That makes it Goodaleara.

Wow, I've been on this group for just 2 days and already I have two plants with name changes....makes me wonder what else in my collection is mis-named. Thanks McJulie
LOL, Todd, our McJulie is amazing and loves the name stuff! Check out her article on Orchid Naming for Dummies!
