    Default Worms...

I couldn't decide where to put this...not really fitting for the pest section, has nothing to do with orchid pests. Not really about non-orchid plants. So...I guess the outback terrace will have to do!

I have a container compost bin, set up with a drain for worm juice and made out of a big plastic storage bin. Had one at my house that got left behind in the divorce that had been going for years and had supplied many tomato plants with good, rich compost. Also have had one at school for several years, but it wasn't well cared for.

I have it here in CO with me...problem is, the worms have succumed to my lack of care and I think all but one have died. LOL

Anyone know of a source that I could replenish it with? I believe they're red worms...would prefer not to mail order them as it's dang HOT here right now and I'd probably end up with more dead worms.

    PM me with any ideas....

    Thanks!

Try your local bait shop. Most small towns have one. In Clarksville we have a vending machine that has worms, crickets, and other assorted bait. I guess someone cares for them. There seems to always be people hanging out at the bait shop when I drive past.

    Ditto.

You could also try a petstore. Some carry them as a food source.

I did a search on "composting worms" and came up with dozens of sites. I saw at least one that guaranteed live arrival!!!

*sigh* What a wonderful idea! The heat/moving/internet woes must all be frying my brain cells.

Off to shop for composting worms and printer toner. LOL
