Newly mounted dend keikei dying

Mounted as usual with a little spag under and over roots. Misted daily. Today leaves are soft, as in dead. Roots appear soft also. Roots were 3-4" long when mounted. What did I do wrong? Gladys

My first guess would be that the spag was too tight and stayed too wet. Do you have a photo? It is usually easier to guess with a photo of the plant/ problem in question.

I suspect that Bruce may be correct. When mounting a Dend keiki, I usually put a moss pad under it but not over it.
