NOID Phal "What do I have? Am I contagious?"

As the title suggests; I'm a NOID phal and I'm not sure what is making marks on my leaves. Can anyone help me find out what it is? Should I separate myself from my other orchid friends before they catch it too?

Do the depressions go all the way through the leaves? The pattern looks like snail or slug damage. It doesn't really look viral, but I guess it could be. Bacterial or fungal disease usually leaves a limp, soft area and rapidly spreads to the whole leaf. It doesn't look like that has happened here. I think snails/slugs or some other trauma to the leaf.

It is indeed mechanical damage caused to the leaves, I would also suspect sap sucking insects like mealy bugs etc.

Spray all of your orchids, Richard. It looks like some sort of bug. Be sure to soak the medium in the pots too (if you don't find the bug when spraying- couldn't hurt to do it even if you find the bug. )

If it is a slug, you can use an organic control... cold coffee poured over the leaves and through the planting medium.
