I have updated the RVO Orchid Forum Weather Station. You will notice a new, fast loading flash weather image on the right side of the lobby page. This new feature allows members to have her or his local weather displayed when s/he visits OrchidTalk as a member. This new module will display your weather and current time, as well as humidity and wind for any location in the world.
To set your preference, visit your Edit Details page in your User_CP. You can also find this information on the 'About Me' tab in your member profile. You will need to enter your zip code (if you live in the United States) or you can enter your city code. There is an explanation on how to find your city code and a link to follow noted on that field. You will also need to set your preference for either Fahrenheit or Celsius Temperature Measurement Units. Click Save and then visit the lobby page to see your local weather. And don't worry about other members seeing your zip or city code. This is a private field and only you and the admins of the board can see it.
If you do not set your local weather preference, the default of Clarksville, AR (my home) will display. This default displays for all visitors and guests as well.
A quick way to edit your preferences is to simply click on the RVO Weather Station title. It will link you to your specific Edit Details page. Scroll to the bottom and complete the two fields.
I hope you enjoy this new feature! Remember, you can always check your extended forecast by following the "Extended Forecast' link at the base of the module on the lobby page. Have fun and enjoy!
Cheers,
